MacIntyre Academies Trust was established in October 2012, to provide disabled children and young people greater equality in accessing local education. The Trust’s objective is to deliver outstanding education through special academies, schools and alternative provision to children with autism, learning difficulties and complex needs. The Trust is committed to providing school environments, partnerships and opportunities that support children and young people to flourish, feel safe, and reach their full potential. In September 2014 MacIntyre Academies Trust in partnership with Oxfordshire County Council opened its first Academy, located on the former Ormerod Special School site in Headington, which has undergone a substantial project of refurbishment to create a safe, comfortable and welcoming specialist environment for new pupils. Endeavour Academy has the capacity to provide 25 places for children and young people (aged 11 to 19) with autism and learning difficulties who are in need of specialist education, care and support.
In addition to the new school environment, the academy also offers flexible residential opportunities including 52 week, term time, weekly and shorter placements in the brand new onsite Children’s Home. An extended curriculum enables children to take part in after school activities as well as during the weekend, and the school holiday periods.
